A Novel Experience: Writing Lessons I’ve Learned the Hard Way.

Next time I begin a writing project I will: Learn my lesson.

How do you learn best?

I usually learn by making my way by trial and error and that includes my writing projects.

Mr Hubby who loves finding ways for things to be more efficient…obviously finds this difficult, and so do my friends who hate wasting time.

For me, it’s not time wasted if I learn something…which is why I am writing these posts….to turn my wasted time into learning time.

So I’m taking time to reflect on what worked and didn’t. What I can see will help for next time, and what is a waste of time.

I am making note of new ideas, so they don’t get lost amongst the crowd.

Next time I begin a writing project I will: Learn my lesson.

I will not wait until the end of the project to learn something that needs to be learned immediately. After the project I will reflect and share the things I have learned.

If you learn best by getting your hands dirty, rather than reading other’s mistakes, then I hope these will at least make you more aware of concepts and ideas to try that might be helpful to you.

If you like to learn from other’s mistakes, I hope these are helpful.

What writing mistakes have you learned from?

How did you ensure you got the most good from them?
